Installation

Valor is delivered as a theme ZIP from valortheme.com.

Install the theme

1. Download the latest Valor-x.y.z.zip from the website.
2. In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes.
3. Click Add theme → Upload zip file, choose the ZIP, and upload.
4. Valor is added as an unpublished theme. Click Customize to open the Theme Editor and preview it.
5. When you are happy, click Publish.

Always preview a new theme (or an update) on an unpublished copy before publishing to your live store.

Update to a new version

Shopify does not update uploaded themes in place, so an update is a new upload:

1. Upload the new Valor-x.y.z.zip as above (it arrives unpublished).
2. Re-apply your settings and content, or use the Theme Editor to copy over your customizations, then preview.
3. Publish the updated theme when ready.

Your existing published theme keeps working until you publish the new one, so there is no downtime.

After updating to 1.7.0

The section button-style control changed from an "Use outline style" checkbox to a Solid / Outline / Text link dropdown in Image banner, Slideshow, Rich text, Image with text, and Promo grid. Buttons you had customized away from the default may reset to the default — re-pick Outline or Text link on those buttons after updating. Everything else keeps its look.
