TvDbDotNet is a .Net API to TvDb with a permissive license and easy usage. It is designed to be used as standalone api or as an extensible base class on which you could build a custom TvDb access layer.
To use this API you must have an API key from TheTvDb.com. An API key can be freely obtained from the TvDb website. See their wiki for more information.
