v0.2.9

Choose a tag to compare

@jtwolfe jtwolfe released this 25 Aug 02:35

Withdraws v0.2.1–v0.2.8. GitHub's auto-attached source archives for those tags included a real household hostname and a live Iroh endpoint id in pairing tests. The attached binaries were clean; this tag is the first whose source zip matches the scrubbed tree.

Also:

  • Pairing tests use fictional hostnames and a dummy endpoint id
  • Release workflow publishes assets once (no duplicated changelog)
  • Child leave still requires parent Allow
  • Schedule, lock, and grants no longer wait on the mesh

Bins for x86_64 and aarch64 (hearth-0.2.9-<triple>.tar.gz).

Hearth 0.2.0

@jtwolfe jtwolfe released this 24 Aug 21:47

Household mesh for Omarchy: pair kids' systems over Iroh, lock overlay, daily schedule, extra time, override codes, and short messages.

What's in 0.2.0

  • Persistent Iroh identity (endpoint.key) and household.json schema 2
  • Mesh over Iroh (hearth/1) with ack, outbox, and merge
  • Ticket/QR pairing first; LAN six-character code is opportunistic (stock UFW denies incoming)
  • Parental lock overlay (not omarchy.lock); fail-open if hearthd dies
  • Per-system daily schedule with weekday/weekend presets, enforced offline
  • Ask / grant more time (extra is date-keyed)
  • Parent override codes that work with the parent offline
  • Short parent–child messages (280 chars, last 50)
  • Push Omarchy updates to a child from the parent bar
  • Copy says system, not laptop

Install

gh repo clone jtwolfe/hearth ~/src/hearth
cd ~/src/hearth
./install.sh            # parent
./install.sh --child    # each child

Upgrade an existing checkout: git pull && ./install.sh.

Bins for x86_64 and aarch64 (hearth-0.2.0-<triple>.tar.gz).

Hearth 0.1.1

@jtwolfe jtwolfe released this 24 Aug 04:27

Bugfix release for a first install you can actually see.

  • Bar icon has a real slot (it was loading at 0×0)
  • hearthd no longer hangs hearth status on a fake omarchy-update --check
  • install.sh copies the plugin from the checkout, enables the user systemd unit, and restarts after replacing the binary
  • Pairing copy is Pair a system (not laptop)
git clone https://github.com/jtwolfe/hearth.git ~/src/hearth
cd ~/src/hearth
./install.sh          # parent
./install.sh --child  # child

House icon on the right of the bar. Click it → Pair a system.

Hearth 0.1.0

Choose a tag to compare

@jtwolfe jtwolfe released this 24 Aug 02:23

First binary release. The system no longer needs a Rust toolchain.

Install (Omarchy)

git clone https://github.com/jtwolfe/hearth.git ~/src/hearth
cd ~/src/hearth
./install.sh            # parent
./install.sh --child    # each child

install.sh downloads this tarball into ~/.local/bin, enables hearthd.service, then copies the bar plugin (Omarchy never executes plugin hooks itself).

Prefer a current release. This tag is kept only as the first binary ship.
