First public Alpha of Action Director, a free MIT-licensed offline action rehearsal tool for Godot 4.7.

Highlights

  • Real 2D eight-frame spritesheet and 3D skeletal FBX demos
  • Synchronized Take A/B comparison on a fixed 60-tick timeline
  • Graphical track and event authoring for hitboxes, motion, feel, audio, VFX, camera, and game events
  • Mixamo-compatible FBX import through Godot UFBX; raw Mixamo files are not bundled
  • English, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, and Korean UI, tutorials, and manuals
  • Godot runtime addon and portable .action.json
  • 31/31 tests passing

Known Alpha limits

Marker and branch authoring, plus arbitrary spritesheet slicing setup, still require JSON. Automatic skeleton retargeting is not included. The macOS public package is withheld pending signing and notarization.
