PHOENIX 0.1.10 preview

Copilot can now plot a route in Elite, using the same Galaxy Map routine as the system schematic.

  • Enable Galaxy → Plot Route in both the installation permissions and the active Copilot profile. It is off by default.
  • Ask explicitly for a route to a named system. Text and realtime voice use the same tool and preserve route confirmation, cancellation and binding diagnostics.
  • Tool execution allows up to 60 seconds for the map and route acknowledgements. An unconfirmed attempt is not reported as success or automatically retried.
  • The README now links to the PHOENIX website.

This preview excludes the separate experimental Android TLS gateway. Android APKs are not included.

Back up your PHOENIX data before upgrading. Download and run the Windows installer or Linux AppImage below. The Windows installer remains unsigned.

Native Linux and Windows build/installer verification and downloaded-asset checksum/manifest validation are release checks, not proof of actual-model route selection, real Elite text/voice operation, or retained-data upgrades on your device. Those acceptance checks remain pending.

SHA256SUMS and both build manifests identify the exact source revision and installer bytes. This is a pre-release, not a stable/latest release.

PHOENIX 0.1.9 preview

Highlights

  • Shared Phoenix/Elite CSS polish: coherent colours, 1px panel/tile borders, wider cockpit spacing, textured Elite panels/settings rows, and readable custom-colour control tiles.
  • Optional muted empty Control Deck slots with dashed outlines and slot numbers.
  • Cleaner query-console summaries and Sources & Credits; corrected ship-dashboard spacing and cargo overflow.
  • GalNet is now the Comms landing page, with a searchable news list that loads more as you scroll and article titles that scroll with their text.
  • Separate article-analysis and background-analysis workspaces. The latter shows the complete active queue, recent results, status metrics and explicit older-article catch-up.
  • Preserved news selection/search/scroll across analysis navigation; long diagnostics no longer distort the queue tables.
  • Correctly labelled GalNet Radio controls and stronger verbatim evidence-copy instructions. Opening analysis pages does not start inference.
  • Shared dismissible notifications and Windows CI SQLite timing improvements from the unreleased development baseline are included.

Installation

Download PHOENIX-windows-x64-setup.exe or PHOENIX-linux-x64.AppImage below. Stop the existing PHOENIX instance before upgrading. Preserve and back up user data; do not reset it for the upgrade. The Android shell does not require a new APK for these web changes.

Verification and preview limitations

Native Linux/Windows source and installer checks passed for this release. Downloaded installers and build manifests were independently checked against the exact tag, version and SHA-256 hashes before publication. Browser verification used isolated synthetic data in both themes and tablet orientations.

This is a pre-release, not a claim of complete gameplay or installed-device acceptance. Actual installed upgrade/retained-data, live Windows/Elite input and desktop-portal acceptance remain pending. Windows binaries are unsigned. Powerplay, colonisation and Fleet Carrier pages remain work in progress. No CAPI integration is included, and production EDDN gating is unchanged.

See CHANGELOG and acceptance checklist. Older previews are preserved.

PHOENIX 0.1.8 preview

Highlights

  • Swipe vertically between control decks, with pre-rendered neighbours and the same animation timing as horizontal workspace swipes.
  • Show plotted routes and query results in the shared Galactic Atlas, with closer zoom, labels, 3D view, live layers and selection details.
  • Consistent square toolbar controls, schematic pinch zoom and distance display.
  • Reorder decks by dragging, rename with automatic saving, and use the revised top-rail navigation. Notes now live under LOG; Exobiology is under Activities.
  • Journal-only Powerplay, colonisation and Fleet Carrier proposals are explicitly work in progress. Gameplay validation is needed; CAPI is not integrated.
  • Reduce SQLite startup writes, fix the carrier-schema upgrade, and improve development hot reload.

Installers

Back up your PHOENIX user data before upgrading. Installers do not self-update.

  • Windows x64: PHOENIX-windows-x64-setup.exe. Unsigned; an unknown-publisher/SmartScreen warning is possible. Do not disable security protections.
  • Linux x64: PHOENIX-linux-x64.AppImage. Mark it executable and launch it. Requires a modern glibc-based desktop (glibc >= 2.34); Wayland input requires a keyboard-capable RemoteDesktop portal. Quit the previous image with its --stop option before replacing it.
  • Git and Node.js are not required. Catalogue refreshes and online queries require internet access; optional Copilot use needs your own provider credentials.
  • SHA256SUMS and the platform manifests identify the exact assets and source. Checksums do not replace code signing.
  • EDDN production uploads remain gated off.

Verification and limits

Both native source and installer gates passed for tag v0.1.8, source 5c95243cd6040b106e995484a5b136a54e503924.
Tagged release verification covers Linux AppRun/extract-and-run and Windows install/launch/shutdown/uninstall with simulated input. Downloaded assets were independently checked against the original checksums and their version/source/channel manifests before publication.

Real installed-device upgrades, retained-data checks, tablet/LAN pairing, Elite input, desktop portals and antivirus acceptance remain pending for this exact build. This is a prerelease, not stable/latest.

New in this preview

  • Personal Notes workspace (NTS), linked to missions, systems, stations and bodies, with optional permission-controlled Copilot access.
  • Create, reorder and resize custom control decks; clearer button-drag previews and edit actions.
  • Schematic 3D Galactic Atlas, closer zoom and flicker-free POI refresh.
  • Richer on-foot mission briefs and attached-label input groups.

Downloads and cautions

Download PHOENIX-windows-x64-setup.exe or PHOENIX-linux-x64.AppImage below. No Node.js or developer tools required. Back up your PHOENIX user data before upgrading.

Windows installer is unsigned. Linux targets modern glibc-based x64 desktops; Wayland controls require a keyboard-capable RemoteDesktop portal. EDDN production uploads remain gated off.

Both native installer/lifecycle checks passed for source 9f34552 in https://github.com/judus/phoenix/actions/runs/38016202187. Downloaded installer checksums and manifests were independently verified before publication. This does not establish real Elite input, actual retained-data upgrade, tablet, antivirus, FUSE or desktop-portal acceptance for this build; those remain manual checks. Copilot real-model note use is not yet verified. The body detail sidebar header still needs visual refinement.

This is a prerelease, not stable/latest. Older previews remain available.

PHOENIX 0.1.6 preview

Another early-access checkpoint. Back up your PHOENIX data before upgrading.

Highlights

  • Community Goals and a richer Galactic Atlas, with POI filtering, bookmarks and colour-coded destinations.
  • Optional GalNet analysis: source-backed reports, related coverage, story updates and investigation leads shared with the Atlas and Copilot. Background analysis is opt-in and uses your API key.
  • Copilot can show destinations on the Atlas. Chat survives workspace switching, and long conversations no longer rebuild the entire transcript on entry.
  • Improvements to saved searches, engineering/equipment planning, Copilot profiles, touch navigation and control-deck editing, plus maintenance and bug fixes.

Downloads

  • Windows x64: PHOENIX-windows-x64-setup.exe — unsigned; Windows may show an unknown-publisher/SmartScreen warning. Do not disable security protections.
  • Linux x64: PHOENIX-linux-x64.AppImage — mark executable and launch. Requires a modern glibc-based desktop (glibc ≥ 2.34); Wayland controls require a keyboard-capable RemoteDesktop portal.

Node.js and a starter catalogue are bundled. Online queries and catalogue refreshes need internet access. Copilot/AI analysis are optional and require your own provider credentials; usage may incur charges. EDDN production uploads remain gated off. Android APKs are not included.

Both native installer verification pipelines passed. Downloads include SHA256SUMS and platform build manifests. Automated checks use simulated input: actual installed upgrades, Windows/Elite input, tablet pairing, Linux FUSE/portals and antivirus acceptance remain manual checks, not certification claims.

Installers do not self-update. Stop PHOENIX before installing/replacing the previous version; on Linux use the old AppImage's --stop option. Preserve and back up your user data.

What's new

  • Move and swap control buttons with drag and drop in edit mode.
  • Numpy follows your saved decks: Quick access is 011, Ship is 012, and macros are reached through deck buttons.
  • Fast Numpad sequences now work while the console opens and renders. Confirmation and cancellation remain available.
  • A shorter README with screenshots and direct installer downloads.

Downloads

  • Windows x64: PHOENIX-windows-x64-setup.exe
  • Linux x64: PHOENIX-linux-x64.AppImage — mark it executable before launching.

This is an early preview. Back up your PHOENIX data before upgrading and close the running app before replacing it. The Windows installer is unsigned. Linux requires a modern glibc-based desktop; see the packaging guide for desktop/Wayland requirements. Installers include Node.js and the starter catalogue.

Linux and Windows CI verify the installers. Rapid Numpy entry was also tested in the production browser with CPU throttling and confirmed by the user in real use. Native CI uses simulated game input; it does not verify every Elite, antivirus or desktop configuration.

EDDN production uploads remain gated off. Optional Copilot use requires your own provider credentials. SHA256SUMS and the build manifests identify the exact installer files and source commit.

Preview installers

PHOENIX is under active development. Back up your PHOENIX user data before testing an upgrade.

  • Windows x64: download PHOENIX-windows-x64-setup.exe. This installer is unsigned; Windows
may show an unknown-publisher/SmartScreen warning. Do not disable security protections.
  • Linux x64: download PHOENIX-linux-x64.AppImage, mark it executable and launch it. Targets
modern glibc-based desktops (glibc >= 2.34); see the packaging guide for required desktop libraries.
X11 helpers and the Wayland keymap reader are bundled; Wayland needs a keyboard-capable
RemoteDesktop portal. Quit with the same image's --stop option before replacing/removing it.
  • Git and Node.js are not required for these installers. The runtime and a starter catalogue
are bundled; catalogue refreshes and online queries need internet access. Optional Copilot use requires your own
provider credentials and may incur provider charges.
  • SHA256SUMS and platform build manifests identify the exact assets, source commit and runtime.
Checksums detect changed downloads; they are not a replacement for publisher code signing.
  • EDDN production uploads remain gated off. These installers do not enable test submissions.

Automated checks verify Linux AppRun and the AppImage's extract-and-run lifecycle,
and install/launch/shutdown/uninstall on Windows
using simulated input.
They do not establish real Elite input, tablet pairing, FUSE mounting, desktop portal,
antivirus or upgrade acceptance. Control Deck's earlier Linux tests are not PHOENIX AppImage acceptance.

Maintainer approval before publishing

  • Review Windows and Linux native build/installer checks for this exact tag.
  • Exercise real installation/upgrade, retained user data, LAN pairing and Elite controls.
  • Review unsigned Windows warnings, known limitations and these release notes.
  • Publish deliberately as a preview; do not mark an unvalidated build as stable/latest.

What's Changed
