AudioMarks v1.1.0

@julianlam julianlam released this 08 Oct 15:42

AudioMarks v1.1.0

New features

  • Open your player from the now-playing card — tap the card (album art, title, or any non-control area) to jump straight to the app that's currently playing. The card's buttons and seek slider keep their own behavior.
  • More rewind controls — the button row now offers back 3s, back 10s, back 30s, and back to start, so you can re-listen to a passage at whatever granularity you need.

UI changes

  • The play/pause button moved to the end of the seek row, next to the duration — thumb reach while scrubbing.

Under the hood

  • New application ID: com.julianlam.audiomarks (was com.example.audiomarks)
  • Release builds are now signed with a dedicated release key

Upgrade notes

Because the application ID changed, this version installs alongside v1.0.x rather than updating it:

  1. Install v1.1.0 (no need to uninstall the old version first, but you can — it's fully replaced)
  2. Re-grant notification access to the new package
  3. Re-select your annotations folder — your existing annotation files are untouched and will be picked up as before

AudioMarks v1.0.2

Feature release — seek control & keyboard fixes

What's new

  • Seek bar — the now-playing card has a draggable seek bar between the current and total time. Drag to preview your position, release to seek.
  • Cleaner playback row — the ▶/❚❚ state text is gone; the play/pause button (with its state-reflecting icon) and Back 10s button remain.

Fixes

  • Top card stays visible with the keyboard open — the layout now resizes above the keyboard instead of being pushed off-screen, so the seek bar and media buttons stay reachable while typing an annotation.
  • No gap above the keyboard — the bottom padding is dropped while the keyboard is up, so the annotation input sits flush against it.

Installation

  • Drop-in update over v1.0.1 (same debug signing key) — just install the new APK.
  • AudioMarks-v1.0.2.apk is available in the repo root.

@julianlam julianlam released this 06 Oct 18:14

AudioMarks v1.0.1

Patch release — 1 fix

What's new

  • Screen stays on while the app is open — the display will no longer turn off while AudioMarks is in the foreground, so your annotations stay visible and tappable while a song plays. The normal screen timeout resumes automatically when you leave the app.

Installation

  • Android users: the debug build is signed with a different key than v1.0, so a clean install is required. Uninstall the old version first, then install the new APK.
  • ⚠️ Uninstalling resets app state — your annotation JSON files in your chosen folder are not affected, but you'll need to re-select the storage folder and re-grant the audio permission after installing.
