v1.3.2 - Withered Petal +2
Withered Petal +2
This release is a major refactor of the project layout. It contains minor changes to exported documentation (removal of the INSTALLATION section, mainly). Package repositories for Debian and RHEL based systems are now available, as well as a new set of install scripts and Ansible playbook. The old linux install scripts are gone (they were quite jank).

v1.3.1 - Withered Petal +1
Withered Petal +1
Just rolling up some minor documentation changes from main, and one that was either a bug or documentation problem...I chose to address it as a documentation problem as 'fixing' it introduced a bunch of edge cases that weren't nice to have as 'default' behviour when the advanced --full mode is already capable of addressing them explicitly.
What's Changed
- Issue 060: bug: xmrf documenation and features aren't aligned - doc fix... by @justinnamilee in #61

v1.3.0 - Withered Petal
Withered Petal
Adds a --sort option for idempotent operations, otherwise you are the mercy of the underlying filesystem's behaviour. Normally not required, but it was something I thought would just be a nice to have.
Also slightly refactors the generate() function for (probably) more stable operation accross various OS platforms.
NOTE: The -s flag was moved from --suffix to --sort as it will probably see more use, no new short flag was added for --suffix as I can't forsee it being used super often.
What's Changed
- Issue 058: enh: add a sorted mode by @justinnamilee in #59

v1.2.1 - Former Lily +1
Windows, wow!
- added a
.exebuild section for the release builder workflow - find a shiny (and rather big)
.exeall in one package below (not an installer, it's the app itself packed withpp) - this also let's me test against the
windows-latestStrawberry Perl with prove...so if nothing else this at least means things work on Windows too - so if you don't want to install perl on Windows you'll at least be good to go with this version
What's Changed
- Feat: add deploy methods: documentation for deploy folder by @justinnamilee in #56
- Feat: add windows package support by @justinnamilee in #57

v1.2.0 - Former Lily
Former Lily
Welp, so much for being done! The bulk of this was adding a few deploy methods (some much more janky than others):
- Ansible via GitHub Release, this one is pretty by the book, lookup latest release, download deb or rpm and install it.
- Linux via GitHub Release, a tad more janky, but still does the same steps.
- Linux via GitHub Repository, installs right from the
mainbranch source, fairly jank.
I labelled the last one as Linux as well, even tho in theory it could probably work for Windows just because we don't yet have a great method in the FindBin section to locate a library on Windows...where do they even put them??
BugSquashin'
- fixed an issue when using
--fullmode with no--outputflag (there were probably other ways to trigger it too...)
Enhancin'
- clarified the
--linksdocumentation a bit - added a
--versionflag for posterity (version was already visible in the manpage tho...)

v1.1.0 - Fallen Bloom
Fallen Bloom
We're here! This is the last release strictly containing project clean up, documentation improvement, build stuff, etc. From here on own unless an issue is raised no changes will be made to the workflow, wrapper, core documentation, or library. (Or when the list of test systems is updated in the workflow.) I will be working on some deploy tooling (ansible, scripts, etc), but that isn't contained in the packaged version, so no release is required.
Supported Systems
Mileage may vary, but it was empiracally tested back to Perl v5.28 (2018), Ubuntu 20.04, Debian 12, Fedora 38, and Rocky Linux 9. Should work on just about anything newer. The Perl v5.28 cutoff is a hard cutoff though, support for @{^CAPTURE} and %{^CAPTURE} had been added in Perl v5.26 as far as I know, but $#{^CAPTURE} (last-val for an array index) didn't come until Perl v5.28 (as far as I can tell from the crashlogs). There's also some loosy-goosy use of shift without any parens that causes some complaints.
Workflow
The new workflow tests on 2 debian versions, and 4 ubuntu for the .deb; then 4 fedora versions, and 2 rockylinux for the .rpm. See the release.yml workflow for all the gory details.
It also (finally) does a prove on the source before getting to any building/package testing steps. Really quite nice what you can do with them workflowz.
Documentation
The documentation has been greatly cleaned up, not really the core options/synopsis as that's been solid, but all the extremities.
Misc
There were lots of other lil' tweaks as well, poke around and find out.
Cheers!

v0.1.0 - Beta 0 - Bugfixes and Testing Sets
Our First Beta (0)
With this the application has been repacked into a wrapper and module, GitHub workflows have been updated to include the new requirements. When adding the testing sets and repacking, some minor bugs fixes and reworks were sprinkled in.
After the 1.0.0 release, the versioning will be more standard, but in these early pre-release days it's the wild-west.
