- "zero" and "hero" say the vowel of "hit" where the rules said the vowel
of "bed"; bounded to the end of a word, so "ferocious" and "stereo" keep
  theirs

- "seven" was "see-vun", the E rules reading the E of "-EN" as a suffix E.
Claimed as a stem, so "seventeen" and "seventy" come with it

- "nine" was read correctly alone and not once anything followed it:
"nineteen" was "nin-ee-teen" and "ninety" "nin-uh-ty"

- "hundred" lost the vowel of its last syllable, and "oh" was read as "ah"
  rather than as the digit

- "eleven" is left alone. The stress rules put its accent on the first
syllable, so spelling it correctly only moved the error into the vowel
  that carries the word
