Edge vs Regular Version #641
|
When using the managed mode install script, how does one choose from the Edge or regular version? How about updating from a regular version to the Edge version? |

Hello, thanks for asking. The install script from the documentation always installs Edge, and re-running it fetches the current Edge — so moving from a tagged release to Edge is just running the script again, no uninstall needed. The script has no option to select a version, but the tagged releases carry the same .deb packages as Edge, so you can install one directly. That said, Edge is what I'd recommend running. Development here is incremental — a tagged release is a snapshot of the same line of work, not a separate stable branch — so Edge is usually the better-fixed build rather than the riskier one. Your configuration carries over between builds. |
