v0.1.1 — Costs for cancelled jobs, and a README that shows the product
A cancelled job with no end time now shows no end time · up to $4.00 in the job picker and the tooltip: the most it could have cost, from its time limit, instead of a blank. A cost taken from Jobwatch's own sighting of the job is marked ≥ as the lower bound it is.
The README now shows the job picker, the wording of every alert and how cost is estimated in each case, and the release carries citation metadata for Zenodo.
To update, download jobwatch-0.1.1.vsix below and install it with Extensions → ··· → Install from VSIX…, then reload the window.
v0.1.0 — Hugging Face Jobs and their cost in the status bar
Your Hugging Face Jobs and what they cost, live in the VS Code status bar.
What it shows
While jobs are active, 2 running · 1 queued · $1.84: what is running and its estimated cost so far. Otherwise, $12.40 this month. Hover for every active job and the latest finished ones, with hardware, running time, estimated cost and out of memory where that is why a job died. Click to open any job.
What it tells you, once each
A job failed (an out-of-memory kill named as such), completed, is within minutes of its own timeout, or has waited too long for hardware; and spend this month passed your budget. Installing it is quiet: jobs that finished before are recorded, not announced.
How cost is estimated
Running time × Hugging Face's own per-minute price for the hardware. Hugging Face records no end time for a cancelled job, so Jobwatch uses the last time it saw the job running, and for jobs it never saw it shows the most they could have cost from their time limits rather than a guess. The invoice is the authority.
Install
Download jobwatch-0.1.0.vsix below, then Extensions → ··· → Install from VSIX…. It needs a Hugging Face token: run hf auth login once, or set HF_TOKEN. Read-only, no telemetry, no runtime dependencies.
