Fire Pro Wrestling G English Patch v0.1
Fire Pro Wrestling G English Patch v0.1 — first public beta
The first public release of the English translation of Fire Pro Wrestling G (PlayStation, 1999, Japan only).
Everything is translated. Most of the story routes haven't been played through yet, so this is a beta: please report anything that looks wrong (see below).
What's translated
- Fighting Road (story mode): all 522 scenes, about 9,400 messages, across the prologue and all six promotion routes
- Menus and system text: main menus, match setup, results, Edit Mode, CPU logic, Edit Ranking, options, memory card and PocketStation screens
- Roster: all 194 wrestlers, plus the bonus edit wrestlers and their profiles
- Moves: 840 move names
- Dojo tutorial: all 43 lessons
- Graphics: mode-select names, wrestler-select labels and victory captions
Story and menu text use a new variable-width font, so English fits the original windows. Wrestlers, promotions and referees use their real names instead of the game's stand-ins.
Which patch?
Download Fire.Pro.Wrestling.G.English.Patch.v0.1.zip below. It contains three patches. Pick one:
| Patch | What you get |
|---|---|
| Fire Pro Wrestling G (English) | The translation, with the game otherwise unchanged. Extras unlock as you play. |
| Fire Pro Wrestling G (English) (All Unlocked) | The translation with every wrestler, every Edit Ranking reward and the story-clear extras unlocked from the start, plus unused heads and body parts found on the disc added to Wrestler Make. |
| Fire Pro Wrestling G (Japan) (All Unlocked) | The original Japanese game with everything unlocked. |
How to patch
You need your own copy of the original Japanese disc as a .bin/.cue. The disc image is not included.
- Game: Fire Pro Wrestling G (Japan), SLPS-02065. The Spike Library reissue (SLPS-02817) won't work.
- Your
.binmust be 303,368,016 bytes, CRC32d9b6b206, SHA-18dbba0ddad40f4b669a88b688417d67c21eb792d.
- Apply the
.xdeltato your.binwith Rom Patcher JS (in your browser), Delta Patcher, orxdelta3 -d -s original.bin patch.xdelta patched.bin. - Rename the patched
.binto match the.cuefrom the zip and keep both in the same folder. - Open the
.cuein your emulator. Tested in DuckStation.
README.txt in the zip has the same instructions and the checksums of each patched image.
Saves from the Japanese game still work. With an All Unlocked patch, loading an old save also unlocks everything.
Known issues
- Most story routes and endings haven't been played through yet.
- The staff credits after the story ending are still in Japanese.
- The arena banners, title logo and promotion logos stay Japanese on purpose, since they're artwork.
- About 36 story lines sit close to the edge of the text box.
