Research Engineer in THz Time-Domain Spectroscopy

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Engineer
to join our team in the field of THz time-domain spectroscopy (THz-TDS).

The successful candidate will have a strong background
in applied and basic research,
with experience in designing and executing experiments,
analyzing and presenting data,
and developing scientific Python software.

The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to work independently and collaboratively,
with a strong focus on innovation and problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute experiments
    in THz-TDS,
    with a focus on spectroscopy and imaging applications
  • Analyze and present data,
    including development of data pipelines and data processing methods
  • Develop and maintain scientific Python software for data analysis,
    instrumentation integration, and laboratory workflow automation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams
    to develop and implement new research projects and technologies
  • Ensure best software development practices,
    including unit testing,
    CI/CD pipelines,
    and documentation
  • Contribute to the development of innovative solutions
    for industrial and societal applications

Requirements

  • Master's or Ph.D.
    in Physics,
    Materials Science,
    Electrical Engineering,
    or related field
  • Proven experience
    in THz-TDS research
  • Strong background
    in experimental design and execution, data analysis,
    and scientific software development
  • Proficiency in Python programming
    and experience with scientific libraries
    (e.g., NumPy, SciPy, Pandas)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills,
    with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Strong communication and presentation skills,
    with the ability to present complex technical information
    to both technical and non-technical audiences

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with instrumentation integration
    and laboratory workflow automation
  • Knowledge of polymer materials and their applications
  • Experience with project management and leadership
