Skritch scratches an itch — for the missing features you wished Skitch had.
The first public Mac release brings screenshot capture, a compact annotation rail, multiple image layers, smarter crops, native drag-to-save exports and quick video edits.
Download
Download Skritch_0.1.0_universal.dmg below. Requires macOS 13.3+; supports Apple silicon and Intel. FFmpeg/FFprobe are included. No account required.
- Open the DMG and drag Skritch into Applications.
- Launch the installed app and allow Screen Recording when prompted.
- The app is Developer ID signed by Kaigani Turner (3RYX74KM8T), but not yet notarized. If macOS blocks the first launch, review it in System Settings → Privacy & Security and use Open Anyway if you choose to proceed.
Moving from an older development build? Save and quit every Skritch copy, install this build, remove the old Screen Recording entry and add the app from Applications again. The stable signing identity is used for future local releases.
Highlights
- Region, window, full-display, timed and previous-area captures.
- Arrows, text, shapes, highlights, stamps, pen and pixelation.
- Multiple images per canvas, native stacking commands and Undo/Redo.
- Independent image crops; canvas crops also trim image-layer bounds.
- Drag Me exports PNG, JPG, TIFF, PDF, BMP and GIF straight to Finder or another app.
- Editable timestamp/window-title filenames and image/video project files.
- Quick video trim/reorder, frame stepping and frame-to-annotation workflows.
- Native Mac menus, multiple document windows and Finder/Dock integration.
