MoonRelay 0.4.0 adds reliable directory transfers and HTTP download recovery.

  • SSH recursive push/pull preserves empty directories, resumes committed chunks and completed files, checks source identity, and returns per-file failures.
  • CLI HTTP downloads resume by byte range, bind saved state to the resource/user/trusted SHA-256, reconnect after truncated responses, and publish only after full verification.
  • Task inventory reports retained, final and reclaimable logical bytes. Exact-target cleanup verifies completed files and releases duplicate SSH chunks. Explicit HTTP upload deletion requires a stopped store and preserves non-reused resource IDs.
  • Native HTTP service survives repeated cancelled downloads.
  • SSH capability checks reject incompatible peers before creating destination state. Upgrade both SSH peers from 0.3.0 to 0.4.0 or a compatible newer protocol.

Download the archive for your operating system and architecture, plus SHA256SUMS. Verify the checksum, extract the entire archive, enter its root and run ./bin/moonrelay --version (Windows: ./bin/moonrelay.exe). Keep bin/ and web/ together; HTTP serve currently runs from the archive root. OpenSSH is required separately for SSH transfers.

Packages: macOS ARM64, Linux x86_64, Windows x86_64. Windows client build, hashing, HTTP upload/download recovery and maintenance are covered in CI. Windows-to-Linux physical SSH validation remains pending; Windows as an SSH receiver is not supported.

Real macOS/Linux 1.25 GiB push and pull interruption/resume receipts are in docs/evidence/cross-machine-0.4.0-20261016.json. Power-loss durability is not covered by those process-interruption tests.
