Loadout is a desktop app to discover, install and manage the skills, agents and
MCP servers your AI tools use. It runs on macOS, Windows and Linux.
Inventory
See everything already on your machine, whether or not Loadout put it there.
- Scans skills, agents, commands and plugins from Claude Code
- Reads MCP servers, both global and per project
- Flags what needs attention: broken links, missing folders, MCP with no value
set for a required variable - Search and filter by type
Catalog
Browse content with the README rendered on screen, instead of guessing from a
name in a list.
- Reads the Claude Code marketplace format, so it works with catalogs that
already exist, and its own format for richer entries - Multiple sources at once, added by URL or imported from a file
- Sources are checked before being added: you see the name, the format and how
many items came in - The same item published in two catalogs shows up once
- Works offline with the last index it downloaded
Installing
Nothing is written to disk before you see what is coming.
- The confirmation lists every file, the size, the destination and the
capabilities declared in the content — whether it runs commands, writes files
or reaches the web - Content is cached by commit, so the same version is never downloaded twice
- Installs as a link by default, keeping the origin traceable; falls back to a
copy where links are not available
Keeping things current
- Tells apart three situations that look alike: a new version upstream, changes
you made locally, and both at once - Update, or go back to the previous version
- Disable an item without uninstalling it, and re-enable later
- Uninstall only removes what Loadout installed
MCP servers
- Configuration form generated from the catalog, with proper fields for
secrets, numbers, lists and free JSON - Test the connection before saving: Loadout starts the server, performs the
MCP handshake and lists the tools it exposes - Failures come back readable — wrong credentials, host down, command missing —
instead of a raw stack trace - Configuration goes through the official Claude Code CLI, never by editing its
files directly, and the file is backed up first
Language
English, Portuguese, or whatever your system uses, switched instantly.
Along the way
- Markdown from third parties is sanitized, and remote images are not loaded, so
opening an item never pings someone else's server - Values of MCP environment variables and headers never leave the main process —
the interface only ever sees the key names - Archives are checked before extraction, so no entry can write outside its
destination
Known limitation on macOS: this build is not signed yet, so the app cannot
install its own updates there. It still tells you when a new version is out and
takes you to the download page. Windows and Linux update normally.

- A fonte é verificada antes de entrar: você vê o nome, o formato e quantos
itens vieram - O mesmo item publicado em dois catálogos aparece uma vez só
- Funciona sem internet, com o último índice baixado
Instalação
Nada é escrito no disco antes de você ver o que vem.
- A confirmação lista cada arquivo, o tamanho, o destino e as capacidades
declaradas no conteúdo — se executa comandos, escreve arquivos ou acessa a web - O conteúdo fica em cache por commit, então a mesma versão nunca é baixada duas
vezes - Instala como link por padrão, mantendo a origem rastreável, e cai para cópia
onde link não é possível
Mantendo tudo em dia
- Distingue três situações que se parecem: versão nova na origem, mudanças que
você fez localmente, e as duas ao mesmo tempo - Atualizar, ou voltar para a versão anterior
- Desativar um item sem desinstalar, e reativar depois
- Desinstalar só remove o que o Loadout instalou
Servidores MCP
- Formulário de configuração gerado a partir do catálogo, com campos próprios
para segredo, número, lista e JSON livre - Teste a conexão antes de salvar: o Loadout sobe o servidor, faz o
handshake do MCP e lista as ferramentas que ele expõe - A falha volta legível — credencial errada, host fora do ar, comando ausente —
em vez de despejar erro cru - A configuração passa pela CLI oficial do Claude Code, nunca editando os
arquivos dele na mão, e o arquivo é copiado antes
Idioma
Inglês, português, ou o que o seu sistema usar, com troca imediata.
No caminho
- Markdown de terceiros é sanitizado e imagens remotas não são carregadas, então
abrir um item nunca avisa o servidor de ninguém - Valores de variáveis e cabeçalhos de MCP nunca saem do processo principal — a
interface só enxerga os nomes das chaves - Os pacotes baixados são conferidos antes de extrair, para que nenhuma entrada
escreva fora do destino
Limitação conhecida no macOS: esta versão ainda não é assinada, então o app
não consegue instalar as próprias atualizações lá. Ele continua avisando quando
sai versão nova e leva você até a página de download. Windows e Linux atualizam
normalmente.
