  • Enforce the five-failure login limit for parallel requests and remove expired login attempts on each login.

  • Ignore apps/*/wrangler.toml.bak config backups in Git.

Cloudshort 0.2.0

@rayhandestian rayhandestian released this 29 Sep 13:31

A setup that works on a fresh Cloudflare account, safer login and input checks, and dashboard fixes.

Added

  • Editing a link's destination without changing its slug.
  • Automated tests for the redirector, the admin API, and the setup scripts, run on every push by GitHub Actions.
  • Database migrations in migrations/, applied by setup and tracked by Cloudflare.
  • A login lockout: after 5 wrong passwords, an IP waits up to 15 minutes.
  • A confirmation dialog before deleting a link.
  • New docs, an icon, and screenshots.

Changed

  • pnpm run project:setup now writes both wrangler.toml files, applies the migrations to the live database, creates the Pages project, and sets the admin password and session secret.
  • The wrangler.toml files are no longer in the repository. They are made from wrangler.example.toml.
  • Wrangler 4 and Node.js 22 or newer.
  • Deleting a link also deletes its click history.
  • On phones, the top bar shows icons only, and link actions are always visible. Long destination URLs wrap instead of overflowing.

Fixed

  • Setup on a new account used the IDs from the repository instead of your own, and created the tables only locally.
  • Sorting by date was overridden by click order.
  • An expired login showed an empty list instead of the login screen.
  • The dashboard's local API did not start.
  • The server now checks slugs and URLs itself, so a link can no longer overwrite a setting or point to a javascript: URL.
  • Error responses no longer include internal details.

Upgrading from 0.1.0

Your links and clicks are kept. From your cloudshort folder:

  1. Move apps/redirector/wrangler.toml and apps/dashboard/wrangler.toml out of the folder. They were made by 0.1.0.
  2. Run git pull and pnpm install.
  3. Run pnpm run project:setup. It finds your existing database and storage, writes new wrangler.toml files with the same IDs, and applies the migrations. Answer Y to keep your password.
  4. Run pnpm run project:deploy.
