One keyboard and mouse or trackpad for a Mac and a Windows PC over the local network, in either direction. Push the pointer off the shared edge and it carries on onto the other machine, or double-tap the trigger key (Right Option on the Mac, Right Ctrl on the PC). The clipboard follows. Traffic stays on your network, encrypted and authenticated; pairing is a six-digit code.

Downloads

  • macOS: Beamer-1.2.0.dmg, signed and notarised by Apple.
  • Windows 10 and 11: Beamer-Setup-1.2.0.exe, or winget install KalkmanCode.Beamer once the winget listing is approved.

The Windows installer is not code-signed, so Windows shows "Windows protected your PC" the first time. Choose More info, then Run anyway. Everything in it is built from this repository.

In this release

  • Each machine has a menu switch per direction: turn off the Mac driving the PC, or the PC driving the Mac, while the other keeps working.
  • While the other machine is driving, your own switch (the menu item or the trigger key) sends its input home, so the way back never depends on the screen edge alone.
  • The Windows app runs at above-normal priority so a busy PC cannot starve its keyboard and mouse hooks.
  • The installer asks you to quit a running Beamer before upgrading.
