Ayah Editor 0.1.8 — Early Access

What changed since 0.1.7

  • Change the recitation in an existing project. Under Sources → Audio you can now add, replace or remove the audio of a project you've already created. Removing it puts silence of the same length in its place. Undo (⌘Z / Ctrl+Z) brings the previous file back. Verse timings you placed by hand stay where they are. Timings that were only spread out automatically are re-spread over the new file.
  • A proper export window. Exporting now opens a window with a render animation, a progress bar, the current step, elapsed time and an estimate of the time left. When it's done, you can open the video's folder straight from there. You can hide the window at any time; the export keeps running and its progress stays in the status bar.

Downloads

  • Windows (64-bit, Windows 10+): Microsoft Store — signed, or Ayah-Editor-Setup-0.1.8.exe below
  • Apple Silicon (M1 and newer): Ayah-Editor-0.1.8-mac-arm64.dmg
  • Intel Macs: Ayah-Editor-0.1.8-mac-x64.dmg

First launch

  • Windows, from the Store: nothing extra — install and open it.
  • Windows, from the .exe: this installer is not code-signed. If SmartScreen shows "Windows protected your PC", click More info → Run anyway. On some Windows 11 machines Smart App Control blocks it outright, with no way to continue — install from the Store instead.
  • macOS (12+): the Mac build is not code-signed yet. Right-click the app → Open, then confirm. If macOS still refuses: System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway. Details at ayaheditor.com/download.

The first export downloads its encoder browser (~100 MB, one time). Everything else works fully offline, with no account.

Found a problem? Use Report a bug in the app, or write to info@ayaheditor.com.

Ayah Editor 0.1.7 — Early Access (macOS & Windows)

@kaltake00 kaltake00 released this 19 Oct 12:56

Ayah Editor 0.1.7 — Early Access

A fix release for macOS.

What changed since 0.1.6

  • Video export works on Mac again. In 0.1.6, Render/Export on macOS failed immediately with "Windows blocked the video encoder". The app's encoder check started the encoder incorrectly on macOS. It now starts it the same way the export does. Windows is unaffected.
  • Clearer diagnostics when the encoder can't start. The anonymous error report for a failed export now includes the encoder's technical reason, with your home folder masked, so problems like this can be found faster.

@kaltake00 kaltake00 released this 19 Oct 10:06

Ayah Editor 0.1.6 — Early Access

Same editor on macOS and Windows: verified mushaf text, editable translations with provenance, tap-to-sync verse timings, background media, transitions, and pixel-identical MP4 export. Interface in English and Bosnian.

Free during Early Access — the full editor with a small "Ayah Editor" watermark on exported video.

What changed since 0.1.5

  • Report a bug from inside the app. "Report a bug" on the start screen and in the command palette (⌘K / Ctrl+K) sends your description straight to us, optionally with your email for a reply and with diagnostics (version, system, recent errors). If you are offline, the report can be copied or emailed instead.
  • The app recovers from its own errors. An unexpected error now shows a "Something went wrong" screen with Reload and Report a bug, instead of an empty window. Your edits are autosaved.
  • Anonymous usage data and error reports. So we know how many people use Ayah Editor, which features matter and where it breaks, the app now sends anonymous usage events and error reports to PostHog's EU cloud: a random install ID, app version, system, language, and events like "export finished". Never your name, email, license key, project content, audio or video. The app tells you on first launch, and one switch turns it off: ⌘K / Ctrl+K → Privacy & usage data. Details: ayaheditor.com/privacy.

Ayah Editor 0.1.5 — Early Access

Same editor on macOS and Windows: verified mushaf text, editable translations with provenance, tap-to-sync verse timings, background media, transitions, and pixel-identical MP4 export. Interface in English and Bosnian.

Free during Early Access — the full editor with a small "Ayah Editor" watermark on exported video.

What changed since 0.1.2

  • Ayah Editor is now in the Microsoft Store. The Store build is code-signed by Microsoft, so there is no SmartScreen warning and no Smart App Control block — and it updates itself. On Windows this is now the recommended way to install: Get it from the Microsoft Store. The unsigned .exe below stays for anyone who prefers a plain installer.
  • Export survives a failing encoder. If the encoder process dies mid-render, the export now fails with an error instead of taking the app down with it.
  • Export says when security software is in the way. When a guard like Smart App Control kills the encoder, the app now tells you that plainly instead of failing without explanation.

Ayah Editor 0.1.2 — Early Access (macOS & Windows)

@kaltake00 kaltake00 released this 09 Sep 07:27

Ayah Editor 0.1.2 — Early Access

Same editor on macOS and Windows: verified mushaf text, editable translations with provenance, tap-to-sync verse timings, background media, transitions, and pixel-identical MP4 export. Interface in English and Bosnian.

Free during Early Access — the full editor with a small "Ayah Editor" watermark on exported video.

What changed

  • Export fix. The encoder browser is now kept in the app's own data folder instead of inside the application. On macOS this fixes a first export that could fail outright depending on how the app was launched.

Downloads

  • Windows (64-bit, Windows 10+): Ayah-Editor-Setup-0.1.2.exe
  • Apple Silicon (M1 and newer): Ayah-Editor-0.1.2-mac-arm64.dmg
  • Intel Macs: Ayah-Editor-0.1.2-mac-x64.dmg

First launch

These builds are not yet code-signed, so both systems ask for a confirmation the first time:

  • macOS (12+): right-click the app → Open, then confirm. Details at ayaheditor.com/download.
  • Windows: if SmartScreen shows "Windows protected your PC", click More info → Run anyway. On some Windows 11 machines Smart App Control blocks the installer instead, with no way to continue — a signed build is on the way; write to us and we will help in the meantime.

The first export downloads its encoder browser (~190 MB, one time). Everything else works fully offline: no account, no telemetry.
