• Restore the native Voice Settings controls for eligible custom-provider setups: microphone and language selection, voice picker, voice-chat hotkey editor, screen-context toggle, and dictation shortcut editor.

• Restore Chat voice and qualify the Work gateway integration for Desktop 26.1021.31345. (#9, #10)
• Keep Voice Settings available after a full Desktop restart, including when native assets load in stages.
• Start voice from existing local Codex chats using the selected Work connection, avoiding the provider-related voice_disabled rejection.
• Recover the Work voice button automatically after temporary routing or gateway-readiness interruptions.
• Preserve queued follow-up text through interruption and resume in external Harness chats, and include the text metadata Desktop needs to display queued messages.
• Make Grok permission menus follow Desktop's displayed language when the operating-system language differs.

Compatibility

The new Desktop voice qualification and reported post-restart acceptance cover macOS Desktop 26.1021.31345. They do not qualify Windows Desktop voice. Global voice-hotkey launch, screen capture, dictation capture, and a separate Chat browser-voice call require their own live acceptance checks.

The intentional model_provider = "custom" setting remains unchanged. Native account and workspace restrictions remain authoritative.

Queued follow-ups have automated Host and Renderer regression coverage. A fresh live Composer and overlay-owner test after interruption and resume remains pending; the reported manual voice test does not cover that flow.

Installers

Download the installer matching your platform from this release: macOS arm64/x64 or Windows x64/arm64. Fully quit Desktop and reopen codexhost after updating so both voice bundles load together.

macOS Gatekeeper

If macOS reports that Apple cannot verify the downloaded app, run:

xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/codexhost.app

Then reopen codexhost.
