@github-actions github-actions released this 29 Aug 10:37

The Keeos Ogham Eurorack module in VCV Rack, running the module's own DSP.

Not a recreation: seven of the firmware's nine translation units are compiled
into the plugin unmodified, so the voices are the module's own code. The panel is
the module's production artwork at hardware size, 10 HP.

Install

Download the file for your platform and drop it into Rack's plugin folder, then
restart Rack. Rack unpacks it on startup.

Platform File
Windows Keeos-2.0.0-win-x64.vcvplugin
macOS, Apple Silicon Keeos-2.0.0-mac-arm64.vcvplugin
macOS, Intel Keeos-2.0.0-mac-x64.vcvplugin
Linux Keeos-2.0.0-lin-x64.vcvplugin

The plugin folder is Rack2/plugins-<platform>/ inside Rack's user directory —
%LOCALAPPDATA% on Windows, ~/Library/Application Support on macOS,
~/.local/share on Linux. Help → Open user folder in Rack finds it.

These builds are ad-hoc signed rather than notarised, so macOS may need
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine on the file, or right-click → Open.

What it is

A hundred curated bytebeat functions plus an A440 reference, two independent
voices on a shared time base, a bipolar lo-fi tone macro, a three-stage
modulation chain, an internal low-pass gate, and a CV output that is either an
envelope follower or a bytebeat LFO.

Runs at any host sample rate: the DSP runs at 48 kHz exactly as on hardware and
is resampled at the boundary, so the sound does not change with the host setting.

Verified

  • 51 golden renders — every menu field, every FX stage in both variants, every CV
output mode, every way the time base can be driven — checked on every push.
  • The sample-rate boundary at 44.1, 48, 88.2, 96 and 192 kHz.
  • Eight instances at once, each rendering exactly what it renders alone, at about
    0.35 % of a core each.
  • Four platforms built, with the binaries checked as genuine rather than assumed.

Notes

Patches do not transfer between the module and the plugin: the module keeps its
settings in its own flash format and nothing reads it out.

Everywhere the plugin deliberately differs from the module is recorded in
docs/firmware-differences.md.
The module's own manual is at https://keeos.io/docs/ogham-manual/.
