KeepGoing Den 0.3.0

Choose a tag to compare

@mrth2 mrth2 released this 25 Oct 05:26

App

  • The app is now called KeepGoing Den. An existing install updates in place and keeps everything: your projects, history, settings and updates carry over. Its file in Applications keeps the name KeepGoing Hub, and that is fine.
  • If you install from the new disk image instead, replace KeepGoing Hub in Applications with KeepGoing Den rather than keeping both: they are the same app.

Notch panel

  • Hover the top centre of a display and a small panel drops out of the notch: the clock, what you are working on with today's time, today's Day Record, and that display's Desktops as tiles. On a display without a notch, a small handle marks the spot.
  • Click a tile to switch to that Desktop. The first click asks for Accessibility, with a button that opens the pane; nothing is asked at launch.
  • Settings has a Notch panel switch that removes the panel and the handle on every display.

Licence

  • The Den stays free, and everything you had keeps working.
  • If you used the app before this version, you are licensed for good, with no key to enter. Settings shows Licensed. You had the Den before it was sold.
  • A new install gets the Nudge, switching Desktops from the notch panel and unlimited bound Desktops free for 14 days. After that, a one-time licence keeps them, on up to 3 Macs: USD 14.99, or USD 9.99 until 6 December 2026. Settings has a Licence tab that says what a licence adds and what it costs, with Buy a licence and Enter key, and anything locked offers See the licence to get there.
  • Without a licence, two Desktops can be bound, and any you bound during the trial stay bound and keep recording.
  • Drift is always recorded, licensed or not.
  • The app now sends one more thing: your licence key, and nothing about you, to Lemon Squeezy when you activate it, to re-check it at most once a month, even when a check cannot get through, and when you deactivate this Mac.

Projects

  • The Project panel is split into two tabs: Week, for the time and intervals, and Setup, for the Project's kind, working days, budget, Desktops and deleting it.

Settings

  • The art credit now sits at the foot of Settings.

KeepGoing Hub 0.2.4

Choose a tag to compare

@mrth2 mrth2 released this 19 Oct 15:05

Superseded by KeepGoing Den 0.3.0. This build gets no further fixes. 0.2.x updates itself; on 0.1.0, download the latest DMG.

Focus sessions

  • A run keeps its place when the Hub quits or crashes mid run: after the relaunch, Session 3 of 4 still reads 3 of 4, and the run ends after its last Session instead of starting a full new count. A Session started on 0.2.3 or earlier reads 1 of 4 once more.

KeepGoing Hub 0.2.3

Choose a tag to compare

@mrth2 mrth2 released this 19 Oct 07:28

Superseded by KeepGoing Den 0.3.0. This build gets no further fixes. 0.2.x updates itself; on 0.1.0, download the latest DMG.

Focus sessions

  • When a run has more than one Session, the menu shows which one is running, as in Project · 2 of 4 · 18:30 left, and a Break that leads into the next Session says so: Break · 03:10 left · next 3 of 4.
  • When a Break ends and the next Session of the run starts on its own, the Pet's plate shows the Project and Session 2 of 4 for 10 seconds, so you know Focus time is counting again. It never shows for a Session you start yourself.

KeepGoing Hub 0.2.2

@mrth2 mrth2 released this 19 Oct 00:29

Superseded by KeepGoing Den 0.3.0. This build gets no further fixes. 0.2.x updates itself; on 0.1.0, download the latest DMG.

Updates

  • An update's notes in Settings now read as headed groups and list items rather than raw text. You see this from the next update after 0.2.2.
  • All release notes, beside Install, opens every version's notes in your browser.

KeepGoing Hub 0.2.1

@mrth2 mrth2 released this 18 Oct 16:16

Superseded by KeepGoing Den 0.3.0. This build gets no further fixes. 0.2.x updates itself; on 0.1.0, download the latest DMG.

App

  • The Hub has an app icon: your character at the desk, in Finder, Launchpad, Spotlight and the permission prompts. Earlier versions showed a blank one.

KeepGoing Hub 0.2.0

@mrth2 mrth2 released this 17 Oct 03:43

Superseded by KeepGoing Den 0.3.0. This build gets no further fixes. 0.2.x updates itself; on 0.1.0, download the latest DMG.

The Hub now updates itself. If you have 0.1.0, download this DMG once: 0.1.0 cannot update, and
from 0.2.0 on each new version arrives in the app.

Updates

  • The Hub checks for a newer version at launch and once a day, as long as Check for updates is on in Settings, Privacy. It is on by default.
  • A newer version shows as "Update to X…" in the menu bar, and in Settings with its release notes. Nothing is downloaded until you press Install.
  • Every update is signed, and one whose signature does not verify is refused and nothing is installed.
  • Once it is installed, relaunch now or later; the Hub keeps running as it was until you do.

Privacy

  • The check is the one thing the Hub sends: a request to GitHub for one file that carries nothing about you. Turn Check for updates off and nothing is sent.

KeepGoing Hub 0.1.0

@mrth2 mrth2 released this 16 Oct 06:10

Superseded by KeepGoing Den 0.3.0. This build gets no further fixes. 0.2.x updates itself; on 0.1.0, download the latest DMG.

The first release. It is not yet checked on every Mac, and there is no updater: a newer version
is installed by downloading the DMG again.

Room

  • A pixel-art room you open from the menu bar, whose sky turns with the hour, dimming and showing stars at night.
  • A wall clock in the style of a Time Timer: a running Focus Session or Break is a coloured wedge to its end minute. Click it to start a Session; while one runs, it asks before stopping.
  • A swing-arm desk lamp whose light reaches further the more of a Time Budget is used, overheating once over it.
  • A shelf of books for your six most recent Projects, your character in the Room, and a door to the Commitropolis companion.

Pet

  • A Pet in a corner of the screen that floats over your work and never takes focus. Drag it to another corner and it runs there along the edge and stays.
  • It adopts your Momentum Mascot character and corner, offers to quit the Mascot and take it out of your login items, or lets you build a character from layers.
  • Its mood follows your momentum (awake, dozing, asleep, comeback) and it reacts to a Session, a Drift or a Break; during a Break it carries a small timer disc.
  • A signboard banner beside the Pet says once, outside any Session, when a Project goes over its Time Budget.

Menu bar

  • A KG mark with a menu to start or stop a Session and open the Room, All projects, the Timeline, the Day record and Settings. The running Focus time is shown only here.

Focus sessions

  • Sessions loop like Pomodoro, four to a run by default, and the Start panel sets the focus minutes and session count for one run.
  • A Session pauses while the Mac sleeps, is locked or shows the screen saver, and one left open by a crash is offered back at launch.
  • Leaving a Project's desktop for longer than the dwell counts as a Drift, with one quiet Nudge on the Pet. Nudges are held back while a macOS Focus is on.
  • Seven soft sound cues for Session, Break, Drift and Degraded moments, off by default.

Projects and time

  • Create a Project from a folder, bind desktops to it by picking from a list, and mark chat or music displays as ambient so Drift ignores them.
  • Time on a bound desktop or from file changes in a Project's folder is counted while no Session runs, and idle time is not.
  • Set working days and a daily or weekly Time Budget as an at least and at most range; an impossible range is refused with both numbers named.
  • The Project panel lists each day's time as unbroken runs, with where each was and why it ended.
  • Name any desktop from Settings or from a Project, and the Hub says that name everywhere.
  • If desktop detection stops working, the Hub says so, stops counting desktop time and keeps everything else running.

Day Record

  • A planter along the front of the Room that grows a plant for each stretch of work: bigger past 15 and 45 minutes, and in bloom at 90. Past days stay readable from the Day record.

Timeline

  • A report over a day, a week or a month, as a chart or a list, with uncertain time in its own lane until you count it.
  • Move or discard any stretch of time, undo the correction, and export the range as a tab-separated file.

Claude Code

  • An opt-in statusline for Claude Code, offered only where Claude Code is installed, showing model, context left, session time, files touched and commits. Set it up in Settings once the Hub runs from Applications. Opting out restores your old setting exactly.
  • Claude Code session activity in a Project's folder counts toward that Project, through a local drop folder that sets aside anything malformed.

Setup and settings

  • First-run onboarding that binds your first Project to a desktop and sets up your character, and Settings that take effect at once, including Large Text on every surface.
