KeepKey Desktop 1.6.3

Includes everything planned for 1.6.2, which was not released.

New

  • Bitcoin-only or Multi-chain. Setting up a new KeepKey now starts by asking which firmware it should run. Bitcoin-only installs KeepKey's signed Bitcoin-only firmware 7.14.3, which ships inside Desktop.
  • Bitcoin-only KeepKeys are recognised everywhere, including in bootloader mode. They are only ever offered Bitcoin-only firmware, never a multi-chain build or a downgrade.
  • Firmware 7.16 clear signing. Desktop can send ERC-7730 descriptions to 7.16 devices as KeepKey certifies them, and the approval card follows what the device will actually show.
  • ClearSign providers. Add a provider in Settings → Signing Policy. The approval card names the provider, and a provider that is down only means no description, never a failed signature.
  • Zcash shielded sends on firmware 7.15. An interrupted split send no longer invites paying twice.
  • Watch-only keeps every account Desktop tracks and refreshes all of them.

Fixes

  • Bootloader mode with nothing to install now asks you to unplug and plug back in, instead of looping through setup.
  • Every firmware install checks for a wipe first and tells you before anything is erased.
  • Setup no longer asks a device without firmware for addresses.
  • Wallet recovery works on firmware that limits the auto-lock delay.
  • TRON sends build and broadcast through Pioneer.
  • Approval cards: Cosmos-family cards show what is signed; typed-data amounts and dates read like the device; "Danger" only for an unlimited approval to an unreviewed spender; swaps name THORChain and NEAR Intents deposits correctly.
  • Linux: fixed a crash at startup, and missing system libraries are named.

Supported firmware

  • Offered and installed: 7.14.2 (multi-chain) and 7.14.3 (Bitcoin-only), bootloader 2.1.4.
  • Recognised: 7.15 and 7.16.
