The Tile panel has a keyboard on it, the fifteen rows of a sound sit under six headings, and the visualizer traces the channel you are working on. This release is about reaching a control without reading the whole panel to find it.

New

  • A keyboard for a note's letter, on the Tile panel where the Note bar was. A key sounds the note as it lands and sets the letter without carrying into the register, so the Octave bar under it is the only thing that moves a note between octaves.
  • The channel you are on, drawn over the mix. Select any lane of a channel and the visualizer traces that channel's own share of the output brighter over the top of it.

Improved

  • The Sound and Lock panels run under six headings instead of fifteen rows in one list, and a row no longer repeats the heading above it. The gate ratio sits beside the transpose now, since neither of those is about the timbre.
  • A note's length drags in twentieths of a step where it moved in quarters, which reaches the lengths between the ones the grid already puts under your hand.
  • The Swap steppers hold still while their digits change.
  • Stage Mode takes the Swap group off the Channels panel as well. It was the one control left on a screen set to play that writes the score.

Changed

  • Shift+up/down and the #, + and - keys no longer transpose the selected note. Both halves of a pitch are on the Tile panel now, and the keyboard lights the note it lands on where the keys left it to be counted out.
  • The row of twenty-four voice slots is gone from the visualizer. It was a line of bars twitching out of step with anything you could hear, and it cost the synth work on every buffer whether or not it was being drawn.

Fixed

  • The plane kept answering the arrow keys after the first one, instead of going dead until something else was clicked.

This release is for Android and Web. Nothing in it changes on macOS, Windows or iOS — the version number moved because all five platforms share one, and the desktop builds are 1.1.0 with a new label on them.

New

  • Export and Import, at the foot of the System panel on Android and on the Web. These are the two platforms whose score folder cannot be opened by hand: Android goes out and in through the system file picker, one score at a time, and the browser downloads a score and takes one back from your disk.

Stage Mode makes the screen safe to play: one switch takes away every control only editing needs, so nothing you press mid-set can overwrite a score or take the keyboard.

New

  • Stage Mode, at the foot of the System panel. Save, the guide and the keyboard field on a value bar go away; Load, the transport and every parameter lock stay.
  • Swap two channels from the Channels panel. The patch, the mutes and the lane numbering move together, and pressing again puts them back.

Improved

  • Mobile output runs at 48 kHz, which puts what an FM voice folds back into the audible band about 30 dB further down.
  • The iOS app is 38 MB where it was 92 MB.
  • The System panel shows the version you are running.

Fixed

  • iOS plays with the ring/silent switch set to silent, and mixes with whatever else is already sounding.
  • Screen recordings on iOS keep clean audio.
