Paper In 0.4.0 beta
Pre-releasePaper In for Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 14 or later, with Brother DS-940DW support.
- Open the DMG and drag Paper In into Applications.
- Developer ID signed and notarized by Apple. Both the app and disk image carry stapled notarization tickets.
- Includes Node and the official Claude/Codex runtimes. Scanning needs no AI account; optional filing uses your own provider account or API key.
- Existing drafts live separately from the app and are retained when replacing it.
This is a beta. Scanner behavior is unchanged from 0.3.9. USB is the primary supported transport; Wi-Fi, Auto paper, long receipts and blank-page detection retain the documented hardware limitations. PDFs do not yet include a searchable text layer.
Validation: 91 offline tests; copied DMG app signature, ticket, Gatekeeper and distribution-policy checks; 6,041 upstream dependency files byte-identical; bundled Node 22.23.2; native controller → local OCR → live Codex → filing → Undo with a fictional invoice.
Independent Claude Opus review found no release-blocking defects. The hosted download was verified: matching checksum, valid notarization ticket, and Gatekeeper acceptance.
The .sha256 file lets you verify the downloaded DMG with shasum -a 256 -c Paper-In-0.4.0-arm64.dmg.sha256 from the folder containing both files.
