VeloWrite 0.2.4 Preview

This preview release focuses on making exported documents more trustworthy and easier to understand.

Highlights:

  • Hardened native PDF export for Chinese and other Unicode text.
  • Unicode PDF font failures now report clear export errors instead of silently producing garbled output.
  • Added automated coverage for bundled Unicode font availability.
  • Added Preview Release Policy docs so users can understand commits, builds, GitHub Releases, and installer assets.
  • Restored the Linux AppImage asset with a reproducible local packaging script.

Available assets:

  • Windows NSIS installer
  • macOS Apple Silicon DMG
  • Linux AppImage, DEB, and RPM packages

Known notes:

  • Windows installers are not code-signed yet, so SmartScreen may warn during install.
  • macOS DMG builds are unsigned and not notarized yet, so Gatekeeper may warn on first launch.
  • This is still a preview release while we continue hardening the desktop app experience.
