Native Installers (bundled JRE — no Java required)
| Platform | File |
|---|---|
| macOS | AskAmerica-MCP-*.pkg |
| Linux | askamerica-mcp_*.deb |
| Windows | AskAmerica MCP-*.msi |
macOS: Double-click the .pkg (installs to /Applications). The installer opens the setup wizard — paste your API key, click Configure Claude Desktop, then quit and reopen Claude Desktop. If the wizard doesn't appear, open AskAmerica MCP from Applications yourself. First launch caches the engine in ~/.askamerica/engine (~450 MB, one time). Signing/notarization is best-effort in CI; if Gatekeeper blocks an unsigned build, right-click → Open.
Linux: sudo dpkg -i askamerica-mcp_*.deb, then run askamerica-mcp to configure.
Windows: Double-click the .msi, then open AskAmerica MCP from the Start Menu to configure.

askamerica-extension.zip — unzip and load unpacked via chrome://extensions (Developer mode). Reads previously published AskAmerica validation claims for the page you're on and hands off "Validate with AskAmerica" to your own Claude Desktop/claude.ai session; makes no model API calls itself. Requires the AskAmerica MCP engine running locally to see live claims.
