Overview

The second release of FireclientQuery, a lightweight TypeScript wrapper for Firebase Firestore. This release provides no breaking changes to the previous version.


New feature

  1. Select a specific document by its id with a WHERE clause:
    Previously, only select * from collectionName is supported.
    Now, a where clause can be added to the query to select a specific document by its id.
    select * from collectionName where id == 123

Source codes updates

  • Added notice to source codes for Internal functions and Unstable functions that should not be directly used.

Known Issues

The current version does not support advanced query operations like filtering and ordering. These features may be added in future versions.

Future Improvements

  • Support for more advanced Firestore queries.
  • Improved error handling and validation for query inputs.

Overview

The initial release of FireclientQuery, a lightweight TypeScript wrapper for Firebase Firestore. It simplifies Firestore queries by providing an easy-to-use interface for basic CRUD operations and Firestore querying via SQL-like query strings.


Features

  1. Firebase Initialization:

    • Automatically initializes Firebase App and Firestore using provided configuration.
  2. Query Support:

    • SQL-like queries for SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, and DELETE operations.
    • Example:
      • select * from books
      • insert into books
      • update books where bookId == 123
      • delete from books where bookId == 123
  3. Error Handling:

    • Detailed error logging for missing documents and invalid queries.

Known Issues

The current version does not support advanced query operations like filtering and ordering. These features may be added in future versions.
