In-Game
In most typing games, you have to type one or more words exactly, which is a good way to test your accuracy, but it requires you to make no mistakes to progress. These games "fix" this by having a slowed down gameplay in general compared to other non-typing games, giving the player a margin of error.
In our case, we went for a different approach. Instead of requiring the player to have perfect accuracy, we directly allow mistakes, however the damage done to enemies will take into account the amount of correct letters.
In this image, the player missed both "E"s in "violence", therefore making the score 6 instead of an 8 if they had perfect accuracy.
Depending on the enemies the player is facing, this might still allow them to progress without having to slow down the gameplay, making it a better experience than other typing games.
In the shop
We don't expect the player to spend most of their time in the shop, and it is less nervous anyways since you can take your time to type, so here you do have to type exact words to buy items, however no penalty is applied if you miss.
