Toggle hotspot action crashes on Android 11

This crashes the service for me on Android 11. MacroDroid works fine on my device with it's standard method for hotspot. Not sure what that is.

Macrodroid does not require shizuku or root for the hotspot action to work on Android 11?

@jambl3r thank you for looking into this. When a user adds the HotSpot On/Off action in MacroDriod, MacroDriod requests permission to "Modify system settings" which opens a system dialog to allow the user to enable this permission by switching on: "Allow modify system settings." - MacroDroid gives a notice: "This action uses a private API, which may not function on all devices..." - It functions well on my TCL Flip 2 running Android 11.

okay, it was probably possible on Android 11 to use a hidden API in system settings. i dont think that is the case on newer android versions. we will fix this

@sds100 thank you! I am guessing that MacroDroid uses a solution found on stackoverflow which is stated to work on Android 14. It would be great to have this in Key Mapper.

I am providing another answer in case, for some, the answer above does not work for them (as it did not work for me). Works on Android 14.
For my use-case I only had to disable hotspot programmatically.
Your app does not have to be a system app. You just need:

<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.WRITE_SETTINGS" />

in the manifest. Then you request it using:

val REQUEST_WRITE_SETTINGS = 1

    PermissionUtils.requestWriteSettingsPermission(this, REQUEST_WRITE_SETTINGS);

Then just use this modified function from the above answer:
