SMCRadeonSensors-RadeonVII 2.5.0

Initial KGP publication of the hardware-validated Radeon VII/Vega20 telemetry implementation derived from SMCRadeonSensors.

Added

  • CG0C Vega20 GFXCLK and CG0M UCLK as ui32 whole MHz
  • F7Ac actual GPU fan RPM, including valid successful zero-RPM handling
  • F7ID descriptor (Vega20 GPU) and FNum integration
  • pass-through Apple Vega20 SMU traffic observer
  • periodic PG0R/sp96 CurrSocketPower telemetry using Apple's reserved-VRAM allocator and 92-byte metrics Table 6
  • persistent IORegistry diagnostics for survey and Active Power state
  • Fixed/enabled the Lilu plugin bootstrap required for Apple HWLibs target routing.

Validation

  • Hardware: AMD Radeon VII, Vega20, 1002:66AF
  • macOS 26.5 / 25F71
  • macOS 26.6 / 25G72
  • macOS 26.6.1 / 25G76
  • Idle → Cinebench GPU → Idle dynamics verified for clock, power, and temperature
  • Valid 0 RPM verified on the water-cooled validation card

Activation

The first public release retains four explicit opt-in arguments:

-smcrv20clockpoc -smcrv20fanpoc -smcrv20smusniff -smcrv20activepwrpoc

Active Power requires -smcrv20smusniff. Reading PG0R never starts a transfer.

Scope

Radeon VII is the only hardware claimed as validated. Other Vega20 devices are not claimed as supported. Private Apple interfaces can change, and unlisted future Tahoe builds are not automatically considered tested.

This release replaces, and must not be loaded alongside, the ordinary upstream SMCRadeonSensors.kext.
