FTIR Lab v3.1

A free, beginner-friendly desktop application for processing, annotating, and exporting publication-ready FTIR spectra.

Installation

Download the package for your operating system and extract it completely.

Windows

Open the extracted folder and double-click FTIR Lab v3.1.exe.

macOS

Open the extracted folder and launch the FTIR Lab executable.

If macOS blocks the unsigned application:

  1. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security.
  2. Find the FTIR Lab security message.
  3. Click Open Anyway.

Linux

Open a terminal inside the extracted folder and run:

chmod +x "FTIR Lab v3.1"
./"FTIR Lab v3.1"

Python installation is not required for the packaged applications.

FTIR Lab is not currently digitally signed. Your operating system may display a security warning when the application is opened for the first time.

Scientific Note

Functional-group assignments are literature-guided suggestions, not definitive chemical identification. Verify interpretations using sample chemistry, controls, the complete spectrum, and appropriate literature.

FTIR Lab v3.1 passes eight automated scientific and data-integrity tests.
