The install check reads the hooks deeper. On Cursor and Gemini CLI it now
reads the event each hook sits under and faults a wrong one, since a stop
hook under the wrong event never asks for a report. It checks that a hook
run directly is marked runnable and has the scripts it needs beside it. On
Codex it matches a hook by its path, so another pack's file of the same name
is reported and not taken for ours, and it reads single-quoted settings, a
shell in front of the path, and a path through the home folder. A tool that
is wired for the pack with no copy of the skills is named in the fault,
instead of Claude Code. A copy of the skills no known tool reads is "not
checked", not a fault. Copied skills are checked for sound headers and for
the references and scripts folders they ship with. Every rule has a failing
test that the change makes pass; the hook suite grew from 193 to 290 checks.

Update: git pull inside your clone, then claude plugin update
open-steps@open-steps. On Codex, Cursor and Gemini CLI the check runs from
the clone, so git pull is enough.
