Short Shifter 1.0.2 — three bounces, collapse and wink

Short Shifter now performs three bounces, smoothly collapses each matched card to zero height, winks and disappears. The mascot stays centred in a separate unclipped layer. Turning Shorts visible back on cancels the animation and restores layout. Reduced-motion preferences skip the sequence and hide immediately.

Validation: JavaScript checks,16Node tests,20sidebar fixture checks,15normal-motion checks and7reduced-motion checks passed. Fixtures use actual extension scripts with mocked extension APIs and illustrative layouts; live personalised YouTube compatibility is not certified. No broader permissions or runtime dependencies added.

Update: replace files in the existing permanent extension folder, click Reload on the browser's extensions page, then refresh YouTube tabs. Audio and playback are not stopped by visual hiding.

Short Shifter 1.0.1 — watch-page sidebar fix

Fixes missed Shorts recommendations beside a video. Detection now uses Shorts shelves/cards, links and badges as well as the existing portrait-media fallback.

Also handles delayed layout, recycled recommendation links, card resize and preference changes across open YouTube tabs. Ordinary recommendation cards without a Shorts signal remain visible.

Validation: 16 Node tests, JavaScript checks, build and GitHub CI passed. A browser fixture using the actual content scripts passed 20 regression checks. The fixture uses illustrative DOM layouts and mocked extension APIs; the personalised live sidebar reported by the user has not been reproduced in the test browser.

To update: extract the ZIP, replace files in your existing Short Shifter folder, click Reload on its card in your browser's extensions page, then refresh YouTube tabs. No automatic store update is available.

Short Shifter 1.0.0

Initial downloadable build for manual installation in desktop Brave and Chrome.

Extract the ZIP, open brave://extensions or chrome://extensions, enable Developer mode, and select Load unpacked for the folder containing manifest.json. Keep that folder in place; updates are manual.

This extension visually covers approximately 9:16 media. It does not stop video playback or audio. JavaScript syntax checks, five supplied aspect-ratio tests and the build pass. Manual Brave installation and live YouTube behaviour remain unverified. No browser-store listing is included.
