TreeX 1.0.0
TreeX 1.0: the disk analyzer for developers, on macOS, Windows and Linux.
TreeX scans millions of files in seconds with each system's native APIs, shows your disk as a 2D map or a 2.5D isometric city, recognizes the space wasted by build artifacts and caches, and cleans it safely.

Checksums: SHA256SUMS, SHA256SUMS-windows, SHA256SUMS-linux. Builds are not signed with a certificate yet: the first launch asks for a confirmation (macOS: right-click → Open; Windows: SmartScreen → More info → Run anyway). After updating on macOS, re-add TreeX under Privacy & Security → Full Disk Access.
Highlights
- Fastest of every tool we measured on all three systems; instant re-analysis from FSEvents (macOS) and the USN journal (Windows), live updates everywhere.
- Dev-Aware: node_modules, target, DerivedData and Xcode caches, .venv, Gradle, NuGet and package-manager caches, with the command that recreates each one; safe cleaning to the Trash.
- Explore: 2D/2.5D map, file types, duplicates (APFS-clone aware), file list with filters and CSV/JSON export, what changed since the previous analysis, saved analyses, all your disks.
- Smooth on any GPU: full quality on capable GPUs, adaptive antialiasing on small integrated ones.
Why 1.0
TreeX went through ten preview releases tested on real disks on all three systems. It is now complete, stable and fast, so this is the first public release; see the README. Code signing, app-store packages and a terminal UI come in the 1.x releases.
User guides (in Italian): installation, the app, command line, macOS permissions.
Support TreeX
TreeX is free. If it saved you some gigabytes, you can support its development on GitHub Sponsors: sponsorships pay for code-signing certificates, app-store packages and test machines. You'll also find the ♥ Support TreeX button in the bottom-right corner of the app's home screen.
