After a year of wor.... no, just kidding - it was a 20 minutes fix but now you can run reload-proxy.sh to trigger original instance reload. This is useful when replacing .pem & .key with a new one when using short-lived certificates.
Despite v0.2 build number, the proxy is working in my environment for over a year without a problem.
