v0.13.0
Upgrade notes
Schema 17. Back up the database before upgrading. This release migrates the schema from 16 to 17 (escalation decision policy: answerers_json, expires_at, delegated_by on task_escalations). The change is additive and existing escalations keep no answerer restriction or expiry, but v0.12.x and older binaries refuse schema 17: rolling back requires restoring the pre-upgrade backup together with the previous binary or image. Any complete schema from 1 through 16 upgrades directly.
New settings, all off or empty by default, so behaviour is unchanged until configured:
TASKBOARD_DEFAULT_REQUIREMENTS: requirement tokens (for examplerunner:k8s-job) given to agent-lane tasks created or moved into the agent lane without any. Agents that do not advertise them stop seeing that untagged pickup work.TASKBOARD_AGENT_POLICIES_JSONallowed_requirements: requirement tokens an agent may set intask_create.TASKBOARD_ANSWER_DELEGATION_PRINCIPALS: service principals allowed to forward a person's escalation answer with the newtask_escalation_answertool.
Behaviour changes that apply without configuration:
- Recurring tasks now keep their requirements on the next occurrence.
- In OIDC mode, Taskboard requests the
groupsscope wheneverTASKBOARD_OWNER_GROUPS,ADMIN_GROUPS,MEMBER_GROUPSorVIEWER_GROUPSis set. Previously those mappings never matched unlessTASKBOARD_OIDC_ALLOWED_GROUPSwas also set, so everyone receivedTASKBOARD_DEFAULT_ROLE. People sign in again to pick up their role; check that the mapped groups are the ones you intend before upgrading. - Escalation answers may omit the text when a listed choice is selected; the choice becomes the answer.
Helm: the chart adds taskboard.defaultRequirements and taskboard.agentPolicy.answerDelegationPrincipals.

Taskboard v0.7.0
Highlights
- Keeps one agent presentation identity and callsign across separate Taskboard task runs when clients provide a stable agent session key.
- Scopes stable sessions to the authenticated principal and stores only a cryptographic hash of the client-provided key.
- Keeps Taskboard run IDs separate for leases and audit history while allowing callsign updates to apply across the whole agent session.
- Shows both the agent session ID and task run ID in the web UI and documents the integration contract for clients.
Upgrade notes
This release advances the database schema from version 14 to version 15. Back up the database before upgrading. The migration creates the agent-session registry, backfills existing runs, and removes orphaned sessions during cleanup.
A v0.6.x binary rejects schema version 15 as newer than it supports. Rolling back from v0.7.0 therefore requires restoring the database backup taken before the upgrade together with the prior binary or image.
Clients that omit agent_session_key keep the legacy behavior: each task run receives its own presentation identity. Switchboard v0.2.0 can forward its server-issued session ID automatically for authenticated Taskboard integrations.

Full changelog: v0.6.0...v0.7.0
Taskboard v0.6.0
Highlights
- Append-only human↔agent task conversations with delivery, observation, and acknowledgement states.
- Structured escalations and explicit pause, cancel, resume, and retry control requests.
- Typed delivery references, derived milestones, durable handoff bundles, and human-owned completion contracts.
- Trusted open/resume session requests without storing private thread identifiers or URLs.
- Cycle-safe task dependencies and operational worker matching kept separate from authorization.
- Aggregate delivery analytics and numeric token/cost accounting without storing prompts or reasoning.
- Human task cancellation with safe active-run handling, plus clearer durable task context in the UI.
Upgrade notes
This release advances the database schema from version 4 to version 14. Back up the database before upgrading. Taskboard upgrades complete supported schemas from versions 1 through 13 directly and transactionally.
A v0.5.x binary rejects schema version 14 as newer than it supports. Rolling back from v0.6.0 therefore requires restoring the database backup taken before the upgrade together with the prior binary or image.
Artifacts
The release includes checksum-bearing Linux and macOS AMD64/ARM64 server bundles and the version-matched Helm chart. Verify downloads with SHA256SUMS.
