@kineticman kineticman released this 23 Oct 20:30

A small follow-up to 5.7.0: playback fixes for ffmpeg-based clients, better TV-provider lists, and less disk churn.

Fixes

  • CNN TVE: the play URL now serves the manifest with absolute segment URLs instead of redirecting, so clients that resolve segments against the play URL (ffmpeg, some IPTV players) no longer send segment requests to FastChannels as 404s. A tune's manifest is reused for up to 10 minutes, so the playlist refreshes that follow don't each repeat the token exchange.
  • NBC TVE and PBS (DASH): play URLs now go through their DASH proxies instead of redirecting to the upstream manifest, fixing the same ffmpeg 404s.
  • DIRECTV phone-link sign-in: when a network rejects DIRECTV under one Adobe ID (Versant rejects DTV), the sign-in retries with the other one (ATTOTT).

Changes

  • TV provider dropdowns now list the providers our networks actually accept. The list is built from each network's public Adobe provider list plus Discovery's partner list, ships with the image and refreshes daily. That drops 187 providers no network takes, adds missing ones (Frndly TV, Consolidated and others), and uses current names (DIRECTV STREAM, Xfinity, Optimum). A provider already saved on an account stays selectable, marked "no longer listed", instead of the dropdown falling back to Cox.
  • Playlist and guide files: outputs nobody has requested in 7 days are no longer rebuilt after every scrape. They're built on their next request instead, which usually takes a few seconds. Their files are deleted after 30 days without a request. The master and default-feed outputs are always kept current, and new feeds and newly enabled bridges still get the full set on their first pass.

Upgrading

No manual steps and no database changes. FastChannels Player is unchanged (5.2.12).
