mdview desktop-v0.1.0

Install (macOS, first time)

mdview is not yet Apple-notarized, so macOS Gatekeeper marks the downloaded .app as "damaged" and refuses to open it (the file is fine — Gatekeeper just doesn't trust unsigned apps).

1. Pick the right .dmg for your Mac:
   • Apple Silicon (M1 / M2 / M3 / M4) → mdview_*_aarch64.dmg
   • Intel → mdview_*_x64.dmg
2. Open the dmg and drag mdview.app to /Applications.
3. In Terminal, run:

   xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/mdview.app

4. Launch mdview — done.

Once mdview is open, future updates are seamless (the in-app updater verifies signatures separately from Gatekeeper). You only need step 3 the first time.

In-app auto-update

mdview checks https://raw.githubusercontent.com/kip2team/mdview/main/apps/mdview-sh/public/release/latest.json ~5 s after launch. If there's a new version, a banner appears in the bottom-right corner. Click Install & restart to download, verify, replace, and relaunch — no manual download needed.
