See what a direct dependency upgrade changes in the resolved closure before the version is pinned.

Upgrade closure

compare_upgrade_closure compares the graph before and after the candidate versions. /check-deps runs that preview once, after the versions are confirmed and before it edits a build file. /upgrade-closure calls the same tool on its own. The write hooks do not call it.

graphSource defaults to auto.

  • Gradle, when the project has a Gradle build and gradlew. Two sequential wrapper resolves, up to 20 substitutions. exact is the default. module is used only when you ask for it. A failed Gradle run stays a failed Gradle run.
  • deps.dev, when there is no wrapper. Exactly one upgrade. The graph is the public deps.dev graph for that coordinate. It does not apply the project's dependency management, resolution strategy, exclusions, or private artifacts.

advisory is stop, review, info, none, or unknown. It tells you how to read the result. It is not a safety verdict, and none and unknown do not mean the coordinate is safe.

The diff is under dependencies. Each direct upgrade is a targets entry: whether the selected version landed, its vulnerability delta, and an advisory safeUpgrade when OSV reported one. License rows cover changed coordinates only. includeLicenses defaults to true. Targets are not licensed.

Grok Build

Plugin .mcp.json is an mcpServers object, so Grok registers the server. Claude Code loads the same file. The command is still python3, and the path is still ${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/server/server.py.
