Internet	recommended during installation, not required

The installer checks memory and disk space before it lets you continue.

Graphics

KiroTux is a Wayland system, so the graphics driver matters more than on X11. Pick the right driver in the boot menu: see the NVIDIA question in the FAQ.

Every release is tested on real hardware before it ships: v26.10.08 on two desktops (Intel and NVIDIA Turing) and a laptop (Intel + NVIDIA Pascal), v26.10.07 on three desktops and two laptops.

Secure Boot

Turn Secure Boot off. The ISO isn't signed for it.

Virtual machines

Use QEMU/KVM (virt-manager) with 3D acceleration if you want to try KiroTux in a VM. VirtualBox has problems with the desktop shell; see Known Issues.
