OpenDS360 v0.2.0

Two additions: the startup sequence now varies from start to start, and the display can show CPU power draw instead of temperature.

The startup sequence picks a movement

It opens the same way — 188 lights every segment and blinks — then chooses one of five movements at random.

Movement	What happens
Needle	Sweeps 0 → 199 twice, decelerates, overshoots, and the swing decays — an analogue needle settling
Climb	Accelerates from rest, overshoots once, drops back
Descend	Falls from 199, slowing as it goes
Stagger	Stops just short, waits, then closes the distance
Overrun	Runs to 199, blinks there, walks down. Roughly 1 start in 40

It still lands on the value it just measured, so no two starts look alike. Replaying from the tray menu re-rolls the movement — which is how you go looking for the rare one.

CPU power draw

Package power in watts. 0–199 W lands inside the display range without scaling.

Worth trying because power moves far faster than temperature: launch a game and the reading jumps from 30 to 140 at once, while the temperature is still crawling upward seconds later.

Two things to know before switching to it:

• The degree dot stays lit. Byte [2] only chooses Celsius or Fahrenheit — there is no "no unit" option — so a degree mark sits next to a wattage. The protocol offers no way around it
• The blink threshold is stored separately from the temperature one. 85 means something entirely different in °C and in W, so switching back and forth keeps both

Upgrading

Your existing settings carry over. Install over the top.

Install

1. Download OpenDS360-Setup-0.2.0.exe below and run it.
2. CPU temperature and power both need PawnIO (winget install namazso.PawnIO) — they are read from MSRs. GPU temperature works without it.

The .NET runtime ships inside the installer.

起動演出が動きを選ぶ

入りは今までどおり 188 の全点灯と点滅。そのあと5種類の動きから毎回ランダムに1つが選ばれます。

着地点は実測値のままなので、同じ起動は二度ありません。トレイメニューから再生すると動きを選び直すので、レアな動きを狙うときもそこからどうぞ。

CPU 消費電力

パッケージ電力を W で表示します。0〜199W が表示範囲にそのまま収まるため換算は要りません。

試す価値があるのは、電力が温度よりはるかに速く動くからです。ゲームを起動した瞬間に 30 から 140 へ跳ね上がり、温度は数秒遅れてじわじわ上がってきます。

切り替える前に2点。

• 度数のドットは消えません。 [2] バイトは摂氏か華氏しか選べず「単位なし」が無いため、W の隣に度数の印が残ります。プロトコル上の回避手段はありません
• 点滅の閾値は温度と別に保存されます。 85 は ℃ と W で意味がまるで違うため、切り替えても双方の設定が残ります

更新について

既存の設定はそのまま引き継がれます。上書きインストールしてください。

1. 下の OpenDS360-Setup-0.2.0.exe をダウンロードして実行します。
2. CPU の温度と消費電力はどちらも PawnIO が必要です（winget install namazso.PawnIO）。MSR から読むためです。GPU 温度は PawnIO なしで動作します。

What it does

• Displays CPU package, CPU CCD maximum, or GPU temperature
• Celsius or Fahrenheit
• Blinks above a temperature you set — a hardware blink the bundled software never uses
• A startup sequence that sweeps, decelerates, overshoots, and settles on the measured temperature
• Runs in the tray, starts at logon without a UAC prompt

Design

No network connections of any kind. Nothing is displayed that the device did not report.

The USB HID protocol is not published by the manufacturer. It was measured on real hardware and is documented in full at docs/PROTOCOL.md — measured values only, with anything unverified marked as such.
