v1.0.0
First Unity Asset Store release.
Changed
- Renamed the project from GameWright to KitWright. The package id is now
com.kitwright.unity.mcp, the menu lives underWindow > KitWright, and the MCP server entry written into client configs iskitwright.
Fixed
- Broker mode, the reported package version and icon loading now work when the package is installed under
Assets/instead ofPackages/, at any folder name.PackageInforeturns null for anAssets/install and the previous hardcodedAssets/unity-mcp/Packages/com.kitwright.unity.mcproots never matched, so broker mode silently fell back to in-process HTTP and the window reportedv0.0.0. Paths now come from the asset database. - The broker source path was resolved in a static constructor, before the asset database is queryable, and the resulting null was cached for the whole session. It is resolved lazily and cached only once found.
- The six-hourly background update check no longer logs a warning when it fails. An offline machine, a rate-limited GitHub API or a repository with no published release dropped warnings into the console of users who never asked for a check; failures are only reported for checks the user started.
Upgrading from 0.6.x
- Remove the old
com.gamewright.unity.mcppackage before installing this one; Unity treats them as two separate packages. - Reopen the MCP Server window and click Configure once. It rewrites the client config and drops the stale
gamewrightentry. - Project skills installed under the old name (
.claude/skills/gamewright-*,.cursor/rules/gamewright-*.mdc) are not migrated automatically — reinstall them from the Skills tab and delete the old files. - Local settings reset to defaults, since they now live in
UserSettings/KitWrightMcpSettings.json.
