DreamCLI 4.0.0 is the first stable v4 release.

Highlights

  • Flags and positional arguments share environment, config, stdin, and prompt sources. Handlers can inspect resolution provenance through sources and wasExplicit().
  • Public schema factories normalize and validate plain definitions. The documented stability policy defines which APIs can grow compatibly throughout v4.
  • Explicit .sensitive() inputs redact framework-controlled diagnostic values. Audit secret-bearing inputs during migration: non-sensitive diagnostics now retain rejected values from every source.
  • The npm package is about 0.7 MB unpacked. Optional features load on demand, with package budgets and exact module-loading checks guarding startup behavior.
  • Help supports themed descriptions and readable long positional choices. Completion headers identify the program version.

Upgrade notes

This is a major release. Optional runtime helpers moved from the root to /completion, /json-schema, /config, and /prompt; public types remain available from the root. Schema construction, root-owned flag spellings, output interfaces, and execution option types also have migration requirements.
