Version 1.1.0
It's been a while and I had some spontaneous reason to work on this. This was mostly done mid last year but I never got around to finishing it, still haven't but I'd say the program is mostly feature complete now (never say never?). There's definitely room for improvement, but this was more of a personal waste of time than a grand project.
-
Added "Randomize Animations" feature, randomly selects a move animation to use from a specific list.
-
Added "Contextual" setting for "Randomize Animations", selects animations that better suit the move's typing and category.
-
Added "Limit Certain Effects" setting, prevents each Type from getting duplicate moves that share the same effect. (Example: If a Dragon-Type move gets Protect's effect it cannot roll that effect again.)
-
Added "Ignore Struggle" setting, stops the move "Struggle" from being randomized.
-
Added "Ignore Semi-Invuln" setting, stops "Semi-Invulnerable" moves from being randomized and stops the effect from being selected for random effects.
-
Added "Buff Normal Type" setting, gives randomized moves a small bump in stats if it's Normal-Type.
-
Removed "Randomize Target" it's now handled by "Randomize Effect" to make code easier to manage.
-
Removed "Rounded Stats" as it's now effectively always enabled.
-
Improved how Flags are handled for moves and fixed other small inconsistencies.
-
Physical moves are more likely to roll the "Makes Contact" flag.
-
Physical and Special moves are now flagged to work with "King's Rock".
-
The Mirror Move flag is now actually used as a Mirror Move flag instead of a Bright Powder flag. (I used outdated hacking tools as a reference that made this mistake as well.)
-
Status moves that target the user have an accuracy of 0 to match how the games work.
-
Several minor bug fixes.
-
"Balanced Moves" has been heavily affected by all these changes and may require further tweaking.
-
Added custom version support, the program now has a "VersionInfo" folder with a "Custom.txt" inside.
-
Those that have knowledge on how move data for the Gen3 games is handled can use this to add support to other game versions.
-
"VersionInfo" folder also contains files to support "Fire Red USA 1.0" and "Emerald USA".
-
Dropped support for other game versions, it's beyond the scope of my ambitions and I'd like to at least support these two games.
-
While this can be used to add support to ROM hacks, most are too advanced for this to work.
-
Zero error handling has been covered, so expect the program to crash without reason while using weird or incorrect settings.
