The first release of AirSCP: a native Mac app for SFTP/SCP file transfer, SSH and Windows Remote Desktop, in the spirit of WinSCP. Free and open source (Apache-2.0).

Install

brew install --cask kleash/tap/airscp

Or download AirSCP-1.0.0.zip below, unzip it and move AirSCP to Applications. Universal (Apple silicon and Intel), macOS 13.1 or later.

First open: 1.0.0 isn't notarized by Apple yet (a notarized 1.0.1 follows). The first time you open it, macOS says it can't check AirSCP: click Done, then open System Settings ▸ Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway. Step by step: https://kleash.github.io/airscp/getting-started/install.html

What's in it

  • One window for all your servers: saved hosts in groups, connected ones at the top, ⌘1 to ⌘9 to switch.
  • Two-pane file browser: drag to copy between your Mac and a server, or between two servers.
  • Background transfer queue with resume after a lost connection and a speed limit; folders as one stream, with compression and "leave out" patterns.
  • Synchronize two folders with a preview; Find Files on a server.
  • Every way in: keys, passwords, 2FA codes, jump hosts and HTTP proxies; your ~/.ssh/config just works.
  • Remote Desktop for Windows, built in, with the clipboard and files both ways.
  • Monitor a Linux server, open tunnels, run commands and snippets.
  • Keys: make key pairs of every common type, install them on servers, import and export PuTTY keys.
  • Trust choices for self-signed certificates and company certificate authorities.
  • AI agents can drive it over MCP when you allow it, and they never see your passwords.
  • Debug logs that show each step of a failed connection.
  • Uses the ssh, scp and sftp built into macOS and shows every command it runs. No account, no telemetry.

Check the download

  • SHA-256: see AirSCP-1.0.0.zip.sha256.
  • sbom.spdx.json lists what AirSCP ships (FreeRDP 3.32.1 and OpenSSL 3.5.9, both with no known vulnerabilities); AirSCP-1.0.0.intoto.jsonl is signed build provenance for the files GitHub built: gh attestation verify <file> --repo kleash/airscp.
