(probably could be fought if they are for some reason horrible to you, email Kevin, or myself (Eric), if you are in this boat...sooner the better. Otherwise, set in stone).
- The game will be 2D...probably "isometric"...(http://gamedev.stackexchange.com/questions/22277/difference-between-orthogonal-map-and-isometric-map)
- When = the Late 1800's. We have decided that it will also be post apocalyptic from that time period. So imagine if the timeline of earth had a catastrophe happen at this time period.
- Where = Earth, and probably Europe (or a fictional place like Europe).
Possible Apocalyptic Events:
- crop failure (most likely from some natural disaster)
- a natural disaster on its own
- possible nuclear event (we realize fission was not around at this time but it would be a possibility of one guy being really smart and leaping forward, as it were) or maybe solar radiation.
- Astronomical Event, such as, a meteor striking the earth.
- A Disease. (Note that the disease will most likely not lead to "zombie-ism"...not just another zombie game)
- Realism or Fantasy?..We had been leaning more towards realism and still the survival element.
Just realized that Kevin also put some stuff decided on from the meeting on the page entitled design. You may want to check out that page as well for a little more info on things discussed.
- Research on stuff you are interested in.
- Download unity. Poke around with it. Watch Unity 2D tutorials/unity tutorials in general
- Go to whenisgood.net link to let me know when we can meet up in the future because we still need to hash a lot of things out before we can really move forward with much. We discussed meeting on Monday if people are okay meeting over the holiday just so we can nail things down more quickly. Otherwise we will probably meet later. Anyway just let me know what times are available for you by going to this link http://whenisgood.net/x9ecrnz and selecting the times.
If you have any questions, complaints, concerns or criticisms please email me (Eric) at ehatch90@gmail.com.
P.S. Super excited to work with you guys and you rock!..even the ones I haven't met yet. ;-)
