v1.0.6
fix: quit on Esc/right-click during selection, grab keyboard focus - Esc and right-click during selection (any state) now destroy the window rather than resetting, preventing the overlay from lingering and stealing input - SetForegroundWindow after SWP_NOACTIVATE so Esc works immediately without needing to click the window first - RemoveProp SelectionMode in WM_DESTROY so quitting during selection doesn't block new instances from launching Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 4.6 <noreply@anthropic.com>
v1.0.5
- Fix keyboard shortcuts on initial launch
v1.0.4
feat: add configurable resize grab zone (WM_NCHITTEST) Widens the edge hit zone beyond the system resize border so window edges are easier to grab. ExtraGrabSize is configurable in shortcuts.txt (default 8, clamped 0–100). Uses SM_CXSIZEFRAME/SM_CYSIZEFRAME separately for horizontal and vertical axes. v1.0.3
Fixes multi-monitor setup by using virtual screen coords and dpi-awareness
v1.0.2
- Rename Magnifier -> ScreenFilter (in user facing strings and EXE)
- Fix region offset
- Improve robustness for running multiple EXEs:
- remove initial flashing (they still may flash if overlapping or nearly)
- don't allow a new EXE if still configuring
- Add shortcut Ctrl+N for new instance
- Allow saving to same file from multiple open instances
- Allow loading another slot at any point
- Fix default-invert for saved slots
- Some refactoring
V1.0.1
Fleshed out the app. The user flow is now:
- Launch the EXE
- Click 2 points to define a rectangle
- or press a number 1-9 if you've already saved a region before
- or 0 to cycle through all saved regions
- The window defaults to inversion, and keeps focus.
- Press c to toggle colour on/off, i to toggle inversion, and w to cycle through 4 white points levels.
- You can also adjust size with usual window manipulation if you want to adjust it a bit
- Optionally, press Ctrl+1-9 while focused to save a screen region, including rect and colour effects.
- Optionally, press Ctrl+Shift+P (this is a global shortcut) to pin the window.
- In this mode, it's transparent to all input events (except the global toggle Ctrl+Shift+P) and therefore no longer moveable.
- But you can now click 'through' the colour filter to your other apps.
- Upon pinning, focus is restored to the app that had focus on startup.
- Most shortcuts (apart from region slots) are configurable in a text file that is created on first run.
First prototype for testing
Compiled executable, unzip and run.
