Bug Fix

Fixed AttributeError: 'LateInteractionEmbedder' object has no attribute 'encode'

Problem

_embed_late_interaction() was calling colbert.encode(texts) but LateInteractionEmbedder only has encode_documents() method.

Solution

Added check for encode_documents method in the embedding fallback chain.

Verified

  • encode_documents() works correctly with bundled ColBERT model
  • Integration test passes with ultimate mode
