A new icon

PS5 UltraPack has its own icon now, on macOS and Windows: a package pressed from both sides, with a simpler version for the small sizes.

Safer file handling

I went through every part of the app that moves, copies or deletes files and fixed what I found:

• After-job Move, PS4 sorting and Organize could replace an item with another one of the same name from the same run, also when the names only differed in upper and lower case. The second one now gets "(2)".
• If a job that patched your own game folder fails, is cancelled or the app crashes, the patch is taken out again.
• Packing your own folder no longer deletes system clutter inside it, such as a Recycle Bin or Trash folder.
• Look inside › Extract no longer overwrites files in the folder you pick.
• A folder copy that can't read a subfolder now stops instead of leaving it out.
• Temp cleanup only removes the app's own working folders.
• A settings file locked by another program at start is no longer overwritten with defaults.

Jobs report what really happened

A game that would be incomplete, a cut-off executable, a package that fails its check or extras that didn't reach the output used to count as success. These jobs now fail or keep the source. Organize and PS4 sorting tell you when items stay in the source.

Also new

• The space check adds up everything that goes to the same drive.
• A ZIP with two names that differ only in case no longer loses one of them.
• A retry no longer delivers the same extras twice.

Install

Download PS5-UltraPack-2.2.8-macos-arm64.zip below, unzip it and start the app. If macOS won't open it, run this once in Terminal:

xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine "PS5 UltraPack.app"
