Wiper v0.1.0 - The First Release
Wiper v0.1.0 - The First Release
wiper is a powerful command-line tool for macOS designed to help you reclaim valuable disk space and maintain a clean system. This first version provides a solid foundation for comprehensive system and application cleanup.
What's New
This inaugural release, v0.1.0, introduces the following core features:
- Complete Application Uninstallation: The
wiper wipe "AppName"command intelligently locates and removes not only the main application bundle but also all associated leftover files, caches, and preferences from common system and user directories. - System-wide Cleanup: Running
wiper wipewithout any arguments performs a broad cleanup of temporary files, user and system caches, and old log files. This helps to free up disk space and keep your system tidy. - Large File Detection: The
--large-filesflag allows you to scan for and clean up unusually large files (over 100 MB) that may be clogging your Downloads or Documents folders. - Safe by Design: Includes a
--dry-runflag to simulate any cleanup operation and a--interactivemode to give you fine-grained control over which files are deleted. - Clear Reporting: All cleanup operations provide a final summary table showing the total space reclaimed.
- Customization: The
--ignoreflag allows you to exclude specific paths from being cleaned, giving you full control over your data.
